Snowfall will be sent off a short-priced favourite for Saturday’s Irish Oaks at the Curragh where she will face a maximum of eight rivals – none from foreign shores – as she bids for a Classic double.

Aidan O’Brien’s star was very impressive when winning York’s Musidora in May, but still headed to Epsom as the apparent Ballydoyle second-string. Ridden by Frankie Dettori in the Oaks, the daughter of Deep Impact turned it into a procession, winning by 16 lengths.

O’Brien has also left in High Heels, Divinely, La Jaconde and Willow, the winner of an Oaks Trial last time out – meaning he has five of the nine possibles.

His youngest son Donnacha is responsible for the ante-post second-favourite, Nicest. By American Pharoah out of Irish Oaks winner Chicquita, she finished third in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot last time.

Joseph O’Brien runs Mariesque while Ger Lyons – who won the race last year with Even So – could run the supplemented Party House, while Fozzy Stack’s maiden Ahandfulofsummers completes the list.

Meanwhile, Charlie Appleby is confident Hurricane Lane will give a bold account in his bid to follow up his last-gasp Irish Derby triumph in tomorrow’s Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp.

“Hurricane Lane heads to Paris in good order.

‘We expected him to need some time after what looked a hard race in the Irish Derby, but he surprised us with how well he came out of it,” Appleby said.

William Haggas runs Alenquer while O’Brien Snr has Sir Lamorak, The Mediterranean and Wordsworth as the Ballydoyle supremo seeks to win the race for a fourth successive year and a sixth in all.
