Construction of Dhamkudiya building is unique & historic step: Chief Minister

Ranchi, Jul 14 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for the construction of a Dhamkudiya Bhawan at Karamtoli of the state capital.

Speaking on the occasion he said that the foundation laying for its construction was a unique and historic step and exuded hope that soon the building will be inaugurated. He said that in the tribal community Dhamkudiya has a great significance as all the rituals are performed here and even discussions are held and it is the responsibility of all to keep the tradition and the culture intact.

He further said that the ancestors through their culture and traditions have brought the community to the present position and now it was their responsibility to take the next generation on the same path.

He said that in this era of development the tribal community has not attained much a success therefore for their development under the ST-SC and OBC Welfare Department led by Minister Champai Soren dedicated efforts are being made.

He said that construction of Dhumkudiya Bhawan is a positive step and pointed that earlier also he had laid foundation in Harmu which is now known as Sarna Sthal. He said that social unity is the base of a strong society and called on the people to remain in touch with their culture and social traditions.

The Chief Minister said that construction of the building which is being built at a cost of Rs 1.50 crore will be completed in 12 months. He hoped by setting aside the politics this building will inspire the people to work for progress and bringing positive changes in the society.

Those present on the occasion included Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth, Former MP Subodhkant Sahai, Ranchi MLA CP Singh, Mandar MLA Bandhu Tirkey, Ranchi Mayor Asha Lakra and others.
