Did you know that 11 people in the world die of hunger every single minute? Did you know that the number of people a facing starvation-like situation around the world has increased six times in the last year? Did you know that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, global military spending has increased by over $51 billion during the same period? This money is about six times the amount the UN needs to fight hunger. These claims were made by the independent charitable organisation Oxfam, which aims to alleviate global poverty, in its latest report.
