MHA asked states and UTs to sensitize law enforcement agencies for the compliance of SC order. It MHA also requested that if any case has been booked under section 66A, such cases should be immediately withdrawn.

Ministry of Home Affairs requests states and Union territories to direct all police stations under their jurisdiction not to register cases under the repealed Section 66A of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

SC had in its judgment on 24.03.2015 in the matter of Shreya Singhal Vs. Union of India, had struck down Section 66A of the Information Technology Act, 2000. This made Section 66A void and hence no action could be taken under this section, said MHA.

Cabinet approves implementation of special livestock sector package consisting of several activities by revising and realigning various components of the central schemes for next 5 years starting from 2021-22. It aims to further boost growth in livestock sector and thereby making animal husbandry more remunerative to 10 crore farmers engaged in Animal Husbandry Sector. This package envisages Central Government's support amounting to Rs.9800 crore over duration of 5 years for leveraging total investment of Rs.54,618 crore for 5 years, says a government statement.
