The Charlotte, North Carolina, performer—whose given name is Jonathan Lyndale Kirk—took to Instagram to share footage of the two teens who said they were raising money for a fundraiser.
The video shows the "Masterpiece" hitmaker surprise the two boys when he jumps out of his van and asks one of the boys how much for the whole box of skittles.

The child responded $200, prompting an incredulous reaction from the rapper.
He then asks the second kid how much for his box and he also replies $200.
The rapper proceeds to give the kids a math lesson, asking: "How much candy is in the box?"
Later concluding: "It ain't even $200. It's not even $100. It's $68."

In the end, DaBaby gave each of the teens $2 and said in his caption that the kids "blew it" but urged them to "keep hustlin'."
Getting back into his vehicle, the rapper says: "You gotta use your head, you tried to play me."
He added: "I was gonna bless you anyway. You would have gotten the $200 but now you got $2. Y'all be good."
Once back inside, the rapper said he too used to sell candy as a kid and joked: "C'mon man, quit playing with me."
The clip has gone viral, with legions of fans joking about the interaction on Twitter.

While another added: "DaBaby was using those kids for content, but the kids couldn't use him for the coin. Interesting."
"Not shocked that people are defending DaBaby. People dream of attaining excess wealth just so they can shit on others. They want their chance at being a rich d*******."

DaBaby has said that he was trying to teach the kids a lesson about greed.
Speaking to Complex, he said: "Anytime I buy something from somebody else in there I buy the whole thing. Especially when it's kids. I give them the opportunity, just make it make sense why you want $200 for this. You tell me, 'Man, I usually charge somebody this for the whole box. I'm just gon' charge you $2 all the way down.' I'da looked at him, gave him a thousand dollars."
He added: "I ain't cuss 'em out and this and that," he said. "I gave them knowledge and bought one piece of candy from each of them and closed the door."
