Andhra Pradesh: Power discoms can revise tariff on quarterly basis

In what could result in frequent changes in power tariff, Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulation Commission (APERC) has allowed discoms to adjust the Fuel and Power Purchase Cost Adjustment (FPPCA) on quarterly basis from the current fiscal.

The discoms are given freedom to seek revision of the tariff based on quarterly returns to be filed by them instead of annual returns.

Based on the requests filed by the Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (EPDCL) and Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (SPDCL), APERC issued a gazette notification by bringing in an amendment to the principal regulation in the Act.
