‘KUUKIYOMI: Consider It’ Wants You to Be More Polite

Posted on July 14, 2021July 5, 2021 by Joel Couture

KUUKIYOMI: Consider It wants you to be more mindful of others. Not that it’ll stop you if you just want to bother everyone.

You’ll be working through a collection of minigames that gauge you on your ability to read the crowd and pick the most polite option depending on the situation. Sometimes, that involves getting off work at the right time so everyone else can go home. That might also mean moving to the side of the escalator so someone can get by. Maybe you let that sleepy old man take a snooze on your shoulder on the bus. Whatever you think would be the kindest option. It’s nice not to cause trouble for folks.

Except, it’s also fun to cause trouble on purpose when playing a game, and no one is actually trying to stop you from doing so. The game progresses whether you’re nice or a bit of a jerk to the people you run into, so feel free to do whatever your heart desires as you work through the variety of scenarios. They’re only a few seconds long each, so go ahead and put your tall head of hair in front of the movie, ruin the gang’s group photo, and just sit there quietly when the crowd is trying to do the wave. There’s a lot of humor to be found in just quietly being a bit of a dink.

KUUKIYOMI: Consider It is a charming, short look at politeness and the fun that can be found when you decide to throw that etiquette out the window. I never expected to enjoy bothering people as much as I did in this game, and it’s got some surprising, fun bits of humor in it as you progress.
