ROHTAK: Farmers, women included, staged a high-voltage protest outside former
BJP minister
Manish Grover’s house here on Tuesday to make him say sorry for an alleged vulgar gesture at the women protesters in Hisar on July 10.
The former Rohtak MLA was then caught amid the farmers’ ongoing campaign to scuttle the BJP events and
gherao its members. Tuesday’s high drama that started around noon stopped when the police barricaded the district court complex close to Grover’s house. The women and their reinforcements from different districts tried to ram through this wall but it resisted well.
Sudesh Goyat, a woman protester from Hisar, said: "On July 10, our kisan morcha was protesting against the BJP leaders when Hansi MLA Vinod Bhayana and Manish Grover passed by in a car and someone inside made a vulgar gesture at the women protesters. We protested outside Bhayana’s house and even though he denied making any such gesture, he said sorry. On Tuesday, we came to Grover’s house."
Grover released a video of his apologising to the women protesters and saying that this was to end the controversy, but he was innocent.
