    Overhand chin-ups ?

Hey, i have a question. Why is nobody doing overhand chin ups ? I mean, when people do shoulder-width chin-up, where elbows go straight to the back, not to the sides like with classic pull-up, they always have underhand grip. I never saw anyone doing chin-ups (elbows go to the back, not to the sides) with overhand grip. Just for curiosity, why is that ? Is underhand stronger position, is it working more back than with overhand, or why, ty for answers

I do both since they are meant to emphasise different parts of the lat. Menno Henselmans has a muscle specific hypertrophy article which talks about this.

Bringing in your hands when using a pronated grip can cause stress on your wrists and elbows. Most people will just choose the width that follows their anatomy.

Also, supinated grip is easier, which would explain its greater prevalence IMO.
