    Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 0.95%

    Synopsis

    The Nifty Realty index closed 0.95 per cent down at 377.2.

    Shrikant Chouhan of Kotak Securities said Nifty50 topping the 15,800 mark was completely unexpected.
    NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.

    Shares of Brigade Enterprises (up 1.05 per cent), Hemisphere Properties India (up 0.8 per cent) and Sunteck Realty (up 0.15 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

    On the other hand, Indiabulls Real Estate (down 2.47 per cent), SOBHA (down 2.09 per cent), Oberoi Realty (down 1.98 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects (down 1.1 per cent) and Phoenix Mills (down 0.94 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

    The Nifty Realty index closed 0.95 per cent down at 377.2.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 41.6 points at 15853.95, while the BSE Sensex stood up 134.32 points at 52904.05.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red.

    Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, JM Financial, NMDC and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

    Shares of SVP Global, South West Pinnacle, Indbank Merc, Sumit Woods and Kaya hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Walpar Nutritions Ltd. and SKS Textiles hit their fresh 52-week lows.
