NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held a Covid review meeting with the chief ministers of northeastern states and asked people to continue following Covid norms to stop the onset of a third wave.
Here are the key points from his address:-
* To combat the possible third wave of Covid-19, we need to continue to accelerate the vaccination process: PM Modi to Chief Ministers of the North-Eastern states.
* It’s a matter of concern, that people are travelling without face masks at hill stations & market places. It is true that tourism, business and business have been greatly affected due to Corona. But today I will say very emphatically that it is not okay to have huge crowds in hill stations, markets without wearing masks.
* We all need to work together to stop third wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
* Further impetus needed on vaccination in areas with higher risk of Covid-19 virus spread.
* We have to move forward by improving the infrastructure related to testing and treatment. For this, recently the cabinet has also approved a new package of Rs 23,000 crore. This package will help every state in the North East to strengthen its health infrastructure.
