The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for admission to postgraduate medical courses will be held on September 11 this year, health minister Mansukh Mandaviya said.

The government had earlier postponed NEET-PG, which was scheduled to be held on April 18 this year.

Later again on May 3, the Ministry of Health said the NEET PG exam will not be held until August 31, 2021.

In its last communication on the subject, the government had said it would give students a month's time to prepare for the NEET PG exam.

Postponing the exam on May 3 the Ministry of health had said, “A decision has been taken to postpone NEET-PG for at least 4 months and the exam will not be held before 31st August 2021. Students will also be given at least one month of time after the announcement of the exam before it is conducted. This will make a large number of qualified doctors available for Covid duties."

Earlier in April, the exam was postponed in the light of the surge in COVID 19, cases after a group of NEET-PG applicants petitioned the Supreme  Court against the conduct of the exam amid the alarming pandemic surge
