Over the last one year, NTPC has moved up from Rs 91 to Rs 121, registering a gain of Rs 30 (up 32.73%).
The BSE 500 has moved up from 14,027 to 21,699, registering a gain of 7,672 points (up 54.3%) during the last 12 months.
The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were INTELLECT DESIGN (up 565.9%), MAGMA FINCORP (up 524.0%) and LAURUS LABS (up 492.7%).

The BSE Sensex is at 52,717 (up 0.4%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are NTPC (up 2.8%), ICICI BANK (up 1.6%) and HDFC (up 1.0%). Other gainers include ULTRATECH CEMENT (up 0.9%) and POWER GRID (up 0.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and ICICI BANK.
In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 15,796 (up 0.4%). NTPC (up 3.1%) and ICICI BANK (up 1.7%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.
Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 36,738 to 52,717, registering a gain of 15,979 points (up 43.1%).
NTPC net profit stood at Rs 48 billion for the quarter ended March 2021, compared to a profit of Rs 27 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 9.4% to Rs 301.0 billion during the period as against Rs 275.3 billion in January-March 2020.
For the year ended March 2020, NTPC reported 14.0% decrease in net profit to Rs 115.0 billion compared to net profit of Rs 133.6 billion during FY19.
Revenue of the company grew 9.2% to Rs 1,085 billion during FY20.
The current Price to earnings ratio of NTPC, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 9.7x.
