Maruti Suzuki Cars Prices Increase — Third Price Hike In 2021

Maruti Suzuki cars prices increase. Maruti Suzuki has hiked the prices of its vehicles again, and this is the Japanese carmaker's third price hike in 2021. Maruti Suzuki had earlier announced that it would be increasing the prices of its vehicles again to compensate for the increased input cost. The company further added that the new prices will be effective from Q2 of 2021.

Maruti Suzuki has not yet revealed exact figures regarding the latest prices. However, the car maker has released details of price hike on a few models and variants, including all its CNG models.

Under the new price hike, It is the Maruti Suzuki Swift that will be most affected with a price hike of up to Rs 15,000. Along with this, the prices of all CNG models which includes models like Alto 800, S-Presso, Wagon R, Celerio, Eeco, Super Carry, Ertiga and the Dzire Tour S will also go up by Rs 10,000.

According to Maruti Suzuki, the new prices will be applicable to all its customers from 12th July, 2021. Like the previous price hike, Maruti Suzuki has pointed at an increase in input costs as the reason for the price hike.

Recently, in a regulatory filing, Maruti Suzuki mentioned that over the last year, the cost of the company's vehicles continued to be adversely impacted due to increases in various input costs. It also said, "It has become imperative for the company to pass on some of the impact of the above additional cost to customers through a price rise. The price rise has been planned in Quarter 2 and the increase shall vary for different models."

With the festive season just around the corner now, Maruti Suzuki will be gearing up for the launch of next-gen Celerio, followed by the most awaited launch of the 5-door version of Suzuki's compact 4x4 SUV, the Jimny.

Thoughts On Maruti Suzuki Prices Being Increased Again

Price hikes seem to be the new norm in the Indian automotive industry. Prices of raw materials have increased which leads to an increase in the prices of components. This then leads to increased input costs and some of this will be passed on to the buyer. This is already the third price hike this year, and we sure hope there isn't another one.
