Accused killer extradited to NSW from Qld

A man will appear in a NSW court charged with murdering another man in the states's central west after being extradited from Queensland.

The 53-year-old victim was found at a Coonabarabran home about 7pm on May 12 with serious injuries to his head and face.

He was taken to Coonabarabran Hospital before being airlifted to St George Hospital where he later died.

NSW Police were told there had been a gathering at the home and detectives were granted an arrest warrant for a 23-year-old man, who was known to the victim.

On Monday, Queensland police arrested the man at a home in Brisbane and he appeared at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday, where his extradition to NSW was applied for and granted.

The man was escorted to Tweed Heads Police Station and charged with murder.

He has been refused bail to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on Wednesday.
