A police raid has uncovered an illegal operation after finding a man allegedly in possession with two illegal guns and a hand grenade, with drugs also in the room.

Raptor Squad charged a 36-year-old man in western Sydney with 22 crimes including possessing, manufacturing, and acquiring firearms on Monday.

During the raid officers seized a poker machine, a crystallised substance believed to be drugs, and several illegal weapons. 

The man was not charged with any drug crimes, but the substances are still being analysed along with alleged drug dealing paraphernalia.

Police searched his home in Lethbridge Park at 6am on Monday before taking the man to Mount Druitt Police Station.

They allegedly uncovered two rifles, ammunition, a hand grenade and knuckle dusters. Experts are examining the seized items.

The 36-year-old was refused bail and will appear before Mount Druitt Local Court on Tuesday.

His 22 charges include three counts of possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit, and three counts of using prohibited weapon contrary to a prohibition order.

He was also charged with three counts of failing to ensure safe keeping of a prohibited weapon and manufacturing a prohibited weapon without a permit.

The western Sydney man was also charged with two counts of acquiring a firearm three counts of acquire ammunition while subject to a prohibition order.

Additionally there were two counts of possessing unauthorised firearms, two counts of not keeping a non-prohibited firearm safely, and three counts of possessing ammunition without a licence.
