Udaipur (Tripura), Jul 13 (UNI) "Exchange of gifts, Mango - Pineapple, between Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb is not only a positive gesture but also catalytic to foster India-Bangladesh development cooperation and more specifically will strengthen the historical relationship between Bangladesh and Tripura.
''It will open up more areas of development cooperation and will help to boost the economy of Tripura as a whole", said Dr Jayanta Choudhury, Faculty of Tripura University and presently Associate Professor NIRDPR-NERC, Guwahati, Assam, Tripura.
Sharing this information in course of discussion with Kiran Bhowmik, Stinger of UNI, Dr Choudhury said that Bangladesh and India specifically the state Tripura with its geographical contiguity has been showcasing developmental cooperation in different sectors like transportation networks in railways, roadway, waterways, internet gateways, trade sector including formal as well informal through Border Haat, Energy sectors, Education as well health sector. These all are directly or indirectly contributing towards the development challenges of Tripura viz Poverty, Unemployment, etc.
It is not only an exchange of Mango and Pineapple between Bangladesh and Tripura- India but an opportunity to establish a platform to increase cooperation and coordination in order to develop the economic condition with the help of the concept on rural development, said Sudip Majumder, Chairman of BAPCL.
Sheikh Hasina, PM of Bangladesh sent mango as a gift for Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and CM of Tripura also sent pineapple to PM of Bangladesh which indicates good cooperation and coordination between Bangladesh and Tripura-India, said Swapan Bhattacharjee.
Bangladesh always commemorates and admits the contribution of country India as well as state Tripura in the liberation war of Bangladesh 1971, said Swapan Bhattacharjee.
Swapan Bhattacharjee, a renowned Journalist of the state Tripura and recipient of Bangladesh Liberation War Honour and Friends of Liberation War Honour from Tripura said in course of exclusive discussion with our Reporter, that the country Bangladesh is important for the country India because Bangladesh is strategically relevant and the relationship between Bangladesh and Indian may develop though cultural exchange, workshop, discussions at gross level people and others.
He said, "The present government in Bangladesh was taken very important measures to destruct the shelters of conspiracy groups in the border area between Bangladesh and Indian. Tripura is more important in the case of maintaining good relations with Bangladesh to get opportunities to use seaport in view of international exchange for commodities. In case of security concern, the country Bangladesh is also relevant for different reasons".
It is an important symbol of a good relationship between Bangladesh and Indian which indicates Akhaura International Check Post, located in the capital city of Tripura-Agartala, plays an important role to maintain transportation of goods including public between India and Bangladesh in the second wave of COVID-19.
