Target different points of a muscle?

I have a PT at my gym that is shredded to the bone and he claims there are exercises/variations to target different points of a muscle, most commonly showing exercises which makes the line between muscle separation more noticeable e.g.separation between shoulder and triceps/biceps. Is this true?

You can target different points of the muscle by focusing on different variations as well as concentric vs eccentric phases. However, I do not think that will make the line between the muscles more prominent. Low body fat will do that to a much greater degree.
