Jammu: Bihar based inter-state drug peddler held with 400gm of 'ganja'

JAMMU: In continuation to the drive against drug menace and to eliminate drug abuse from the region, Jammu Police on Tuesday achieved a major success by arresting one Bihar based inter-state drug/narcotics peddler along with 400gm of ganja (high quality cannabis) during a naka checking at Satyam road Trikuta Nagar area.
Police spokesperson said, “A naka was laid by police team of Police Station Bahu Fort where police teams of PS Bahu Fort rounded up a suspect namely identified as Akhter Hussain son of Islamuddin a resident of Bhatolia-Gopalganj, Bihar presently at Extn 1-C Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.”
“On search of his belongings police team recovered 400gm of Ganja was recovered from his possession,” police said and added that the accused was arrested on the spot.
An FIR No. 255/21 under NDPS Act got registered at P/S Bahu Fort and further investigations are on to ascertain the end source of the contraband consignment.
