WI vs AUS 3rd T20: Gayle fires, West Indies thrash Australia once again to seal series 3-0

WI vs AUS 3rd T20: Gayle fires, West Indies thrash Australia once again to seal series 3-0 – West Indies won by 6 wicket, Chris Gayle score 38 ball 67. Winning the toss in the 3rd T20I match at Gros Islet, St Lucia, Aaron Finch and Matthew Wade were off to a good start. The duo stitched a 41-run stand till the fifth over before Wade departed to the pavilion. Soon, Mitchell Marsh took to the crease but fell cheaply. Thereafter, wickets tumbled for the Kangaroos in quick succession until Moises Henriques and Ashton Turner lent some stability to the jolted Australian side. The duo’s 59-run stand helped Australia gather 141 runs on the board.

In return, the Caribbeans pounced up ferociously after losing Andre Fletcher’s wicket right in the first over. A little partnership between Chris Gayle and Lendl Simmons followed by the Gayle-storm helped Windies claim a clinical win. The Universal Boss smashed a valiant knock- 67 runs from 38 balls (4- four 6- seven), also marking his return to the T20I side.
Besides, skipper Nicholas Pooran also mustered some important runs- 32 off 27, and hit the finishing runs to seal their T20I series win against Australia.

Windies have already clinched the T20I series 3-0, while the two teams are yet to square lock horns in the remaining two T20I of the series.

Chris Gayle was adjudged the ‘Player of the match‘ for his quickfire 67-run knock.

WI vs AUS 3rd T20 Live: The 3rd T20I between Australia and West Indies at Gros Islet, St Lucia is a make or break match, especially for the Kangaroos. A loss in the upcoming third clash would see Nicholas Pooran led West Indies to emerge as clear winners in the ongoing 5-match T20I series. Aaron Finch’s Australia had horrendously lost the first two matches against the Caribbean overseas. Currently, the hosts (West Indies) are up 2-0 in the 5-match T20I series.

In what could deal a further blow to Aaron Finch’s Australia, West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard is all set to come back having missed the first two matches with a hamstring injury. But Pollard in or not, Australia need to pull up its socks in the batting department. Poor opening and rushed shots have seen them crumble like cookies in the first two matches. If they had lost seven wickets for 38 runs in the 1st, they lost 7 wickets for 39 runs in the second.

WI vs AUS 3rd T20 Live: The only positive sign so far is Mitchell Marsh who has scored two half-centuries but they need other batsmen in the middle-order who can bat longer. Otherwise, the series will be lost in just three matches.
