Mumbai: 441 new Covid-19 cases, active cases drop below 7,000

MUMBAI: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday informed that the city reported 441 new Covid-19 cases. The total tally has reached 7,28,615.
Unfortunately, eight people succumbed to the virus, taking the death toll to 15,644. Among those dead, four patients had co-morbidities.
On a positive note, 600 patients were discharged from hospitals post-recovery. The total number of patients recovered/discharged stands at 7,03,677.
At present, there are 6,950 active cases in Mumbai.
The recovery rate in Mumbai is 96 per cent and the doubling rate is 925 days.
Meanwhile, the civic body has declared five areas as 'Active Containment Zones' in Mumbai. The BMC has also sealed off 65 buildings in the city to curb the spread of the virus.
