Maha CM optimistic on allowing commuters on suburban trains: Darekar

Thane, Jul 13 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has assured BJP's Leader of Opposition Pravin Darekar that he would take a positive stand on allowing the public to travel in suburban train services of Mumbai.
The Chief Minister had on Monday called and discussed in detail the issue with Mr Darekar, after the Opposition leader gave an ultimatum to the state government and warned of serious agitation, including 'rail roko', to press for their demand of allowing the people to travel in the suburban trains, an official release issued by Mr Darekar’s office stated here.
The release further said that the duo discussed in detail about the resumption of suburban services between Kasara-Karjat-Thane and Mumbai.
During the discussion, the Chief Minister was positive and assured to take a positive stand, said the release.
Mr Darekar had also said that he would approach the Railway Minister with the demand.
He had stated that those who have taken two shots of Covid vaccine should be allowed to travel in the locals.
