Banned WhatsApp account Heres how you may soon be able to get it back
WhatsApp has a strict policy when it comes to banning accounts. The company takes the stern step of banning accounts that are part of “activities that violate its terms and service.”

While having a rigorous policy on this matter is much appreciated as it manages to keep the platform safe, oftentimes, a lot of people who aren’t necessarily trying to misuse the platform also get roped in and end up losing their accounts.

This is especially annoying as WhatsApp doesn’t notify its users before banning them. “We might not issue a warning before banning your account,” says WhatsApp in its FAQ section.

Now, WhatsApp seems to have acknowledged the problem as it has been spotted working on a new feature that will allow users to ask the app developer to review its case in an attempt of getting unbanned.

The feature has been spotted by WABetaInfo — the online platform that tracks the upcoming changes and features of the Facebook-owned app.

How this feature is likely to work
According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will roll out an in-app tool for banned account users.

This means that users whose accounts get banned, will be able to request a review within WhatsApp.

Aș per the screenshot provided by the report, users will soon be able to see the ‘request a review’ option once their account gets banned. This will then lead to a screen where they will be allowed to add any details they want to include in their review.

“WhatsApp Support will review your account and device info to check for activity that goes against our terms of service,” says WhatsApp on that screen.

What may happen after review is completed
Once the review is completed there are two possible scenarios:

  • Account gets restored
In this case, WhatsApp will acknowledge that the account was flagged accidentally and chats will be restored after verification.

  • Account remains banned
After the review is completed and the account holder is still found to be in violation of the terms and service of the app then they will have no choice but to drop that account and register with a new number in case they want to still use WhatsApp.

When will WhatsApp roll out this feature
According to WABetaInfo, this feature has been spotted in a future update of WhatsApp beta for iOS and is expected to be rolled out soon. Android users of WhatsApp should also get their hands on this feature around the same time.

How to get banned WhatsApp account restored right now
Currently, those trying to get their accounts unbanned on WhatsApp will have to contact them via their support page.
