Gurgaon receives 15,000 doses of Covishield

Gurgaon: The district on Monday received 15,000 doses of Covishield and will administer both first and second doses to recipients at 71 government session sites on Tuesday. While 32 sites will give second shots, including five for Covaxin and 27 for Covishield, 39 sites will give first doses of all three vaccines, including Sputnik V.
“We have got an additional 15,000 doses of Covishield, so we will give both first and second shots. Our vaccine bus has also been inoculating people in the urban slums daily and we are penetrating the rural areas aggressively to increase the pace of the drive,” said Dr Virender Yadav, chief medical officer, Gurgaon. On Tuesday, 100 slots will be available at the Sector 31 polyclinic for Sputnik V.
Meanwhile, 6,940 people in the 18-44 age group got inoculated on Monday while 4,779 people took the shots in the 45-plus category. As many as 107 healthcare staff and 173 frontline workers also received jabs.
