ER's Asansol Div published Coffee Table Book to immortalise Heritage sites of Bengal

Asansol, Jul 13 (UNI) Eastern Railway general manager Manoj Joshi on Tuesday inaugurated a Coffee Table Book, published by Eastern Railway’s Asansol Division, christened as “Heritage Odyssey of Asansol Division” through video conferencing.
The Coffee Table book is an effort of the Asansol Division to showcase the historically, geographically, financially and religiously renowned places around the jurisdiction of the Asansol Division.
Efforts have been made to cover most of the unsung stories to make this Coffee Table Book a luscious reading content for book lovers and tour enthusiasts.
Due to various restrictions in the COVID pandemic situation, people are confined in their homes and cannot undertake journeys as earlier.
" Therefore, it is an effort to offer the travel lover an idea to explore local sites, which are also of equal historic and economic importance," said an ER statement.
Heritage schools, religious places, parks, industries, heritage landmark institutions, first business houses in West Bengal, commercial houses etc. have found a place in the pages with colourful pictures of the same and brief history of each site.
Additional General Manager, Eastern Railway Aneet Dulat and Divisional Railway Manager, Eastern Railway Sumit Sarkar, who conceptualised the book, were also present on the occasion
