No. 3 seed Bernarda Pera rebounded from a set down to defeat Austrian Julia Grabher 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 Tuesday in the first round of the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest.
The 74th-ranked singles player saved 10 of 14 break points, including 5 of 6 in the final set, and capitalized on her opponent's 13 total double faults.
Pera's fellow American, No. 2 seed Danielle Collins, beat Italian Martina Di Giuseppe 6-2, 6-1 Tuesday. No. 5 seed Ana Bogdan of Romania and No. 6 seed Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus also advanced.

In the lone instance of an unseeded player upsetting a seeded one Tuesday, Australia's Storm Sanders toppled No. 4 Marie Bouzkova 3-6, 6-4, 6-2, in two hours and 17 minutes in Bouzkova's native Czech Republic.
Czech No. 2 seed Barbora Krejcikova had better luck, winning 6-2, 6-3 over Bulgarian Isabella Shinikova in her first-round match.
No. 5 seed Katerina Siniakova and No. 8 seed Tereza Martincova -- both natives of the Czech Republic as well -- also opened the tournament with wins.
Ladies Open Lausanne
Italian No. 4 seed Camila Giorgi made quick work of Norway's Ulrikke Eikeri, winning their first-round match in Switzerland 6-2, 6-0, in an hour and four minutes.
At the other end of the spectrum was No. 8 seed Anna Blinkova. The Russian needed three sets and two hours, six minutes to overcome Belarusian foe Olga Govortsova 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Two matches that were suspended Monday wrapped up Tuesday, with American Alycia Parks defeating German Anna-Lena Friedsam 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, and France's Fiona Ferro finishing off a 7-5, 6-2 victory over countrywoman Harmony Tan.
