The shooting of the film started last year and was stopped multiple times due to Covid-19. After facing multiple pauses, the shoot of the film has been completed. Enemy also has Prakash Raj, Mrnalini ravi and mamta mohandas in the main cast. The movie is bankrolled by mini Studios vinod kumar while Thaman and R D Rajasekar helms the music and cinematography for the film respectively. 

Anand shankar has earlier directed two films, Vikram’s Irumugan and Arima Nambi both gaining good reviews. He also directed Vijar Devarakonda’s NOTA in both tamil and telugu. 

Vishal was last seen on large screen with ‘Chakra’ and Arya’s last film being Teddy which released on Hotstar. arya is gearing up for another release this month as ‘Sarpatta Parambarai’ is set to premiere on amazon Prime Video on July 22. The movie is directed by Ranjith (Kaala, kabali fame) and has Pasupathi, sanchana natarajan and anupama kumar in the main cast whose music is produced by Santhosh Narayanan.
