Election strategist Prashant Kishor met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at his residence on Tuesday amid Navjot Singh Sidhu`s statement regarding the Aam Aadmi Party. Priyanka Gandhi and KC Venugopal were also present during the meet. Political speculation has intensified since this meeting. The meeting at Gandhi`s residence came in the backdrop of efforts for a peace settlement between Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and his chief critic Navjot Singh Sidhu.
Prashant`s meeting with Rahul is believed to be important amid squabbles in the Congress unit in Punjab and Rajasthan.
The responsibility of preparing the election strategy of Punjab Congress is already with Prashant Kishor. Sidhu`s future in Congress could`ve been discussed in the meeting. The party is assessing how his future in Congress will be. However, today Sidhu has indicated to join the Aam Aadmi Party through one of his tweets. Therefore, the party is assessing in every way what kind of political loss or gain will Congress face if Siddhu resigns from the party.
