‘Bigg Boss 14’ finalist Aly Goni recently announced that he will be taking a break from Twitter after trolls abused his sister Ilham on the microblogging platform.
Aly tweeted, “Saw some accounts abusing my sister and saying negative things... I use to ignore things... but this is something I can’t ignore. Bloody don’t u dare drag my family here… I’m so angry right now I might delete my account... hell with this.”
In a subsequent tweet he added, “I’m going off Twitter for a while… lots of love to my people peace out.”
Actor Jasmin Bhasin, who is currently dating Aly, also voiced her support for Ilham.
"@IlhamGoni is my sister and family to me who I love and respect the most. Anyone spreading hate and negativity towards her can't be my fan because my fans believe in peace and spreading love," she wrote.
Aly and Jasmin, who had been best friends for a long time, opened up about their feelings towards each other on "Bigg Boss" and were one of the most popular pairs on the Salman Khan-hosted show which concluded in February.
In an earlier interview with The Free Press Journal, Aly had said, "Since the day I started social media, I have not cared what people say or talk about me. And trolls live because we reply to them and give them something to feed on. And I don’t want to feed them."
While Aly did not win the controversial reality show, he said, "It taught me a lot about patience and I am applying it in my life now. And after being locked inside the house for around three months, it feels great to be with my family."
