HP CM expresses concern over losses due to heavy rain

Shimla, Jul 12 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Monday expressed concern over the losses due to heavy rain.

The Chief Minister has directed the officials to ensure speedy relief and rescue operation in the affected areas.

He also urged the local people and tourists to refrain from going near the river banks to avoid any untoward incident.

Heavy rains on Monday triggered massive flash floods in Dharamshala.

Vehicles were stuck and submerged in water.

Due to heavy and incessant rain, a drain near Bhagsu Nag in upper Dharamshala adjoining Mecleodganj changed its course, sweeping away a number of vehicles including cars and bikes.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Mr Thakur to take stock of the situation arising due to the floods in several districts of the State and assured him all possible help from the Centre.
