MUMBAI: The maximum city on Monday reported 478 new
Covid-19 cases, taking the overall case count to 7,28,187.
Nine people also scummbed to the virus. So far, 15,636 people from the city have lost their lives. Among those dead, seven people had co-morbidities.
The city also saw 701 recoveries during the day. Till date, 7,02,077 people have recovered from the virus.
Active cases now stand at 7,120.
The recovery rate is 96 percent and the doubling rate is 926 days. 67 buildings also remain sealed.
Meanwhile,
BMC informed that a preliminary experiment of a cocktail of two antibody drugs, Casirvimab and Imdevimab was successful.
"So far, more than 200 patients have been treated using this method at Seven Hills Hospital in Andheri and this pilot experiment has been successful. Only one (0.5 per cent) patient needed oxygen supply after taking this cocktail of drugs, and the mortality rate has come down by a 70 per cent. Not only this, the duration of treatment in the hospital has been reduced from 13 to 14 days to 5 to 6 days now," said BMC in a release
