Two suspects of the Al Qaeda-backed terrorist organization arrested from Lucknow were presented in the Lucknow court today.

Two suspects of the Al Qaeda-backed terrorist organization arrested from Lucknow were presented in the Lucknow court today. The ATS sought remand by presenting both the suspects Minhaj Ahmed and Maseeruddin in the ADJ court in Lucknow. The court has sent both the suspects to 14-day police remand. After getting the remand, the ATS will further question them.

They were preparing for a blast on August 15 in different districts of the state. All this was happening at the behest of Umar Halmandi, the biggest leader of Al Qaeda in Uttar Pradesh.

The detained terrorists are connected to the AQIS module operating on the Jammu and Kashmir border. A few days ago, information about terrorists hiding in Lucknow was received in a blast in Jammu.

Sources associated with ATS said that the maps of religious places of Kashi and Mathura have also been received by the ATS from the terrorists. These maps are marked with different points. UP ATS has also recovered the details of an area of Gorakhpur from the terrorists. Along with this, the details of public and religious places of many big cities of the state have also been received from the arrested terrorists. The ATS is interrogating more than a dozen suspects in the last 24 hours.

ADG (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar said, “After receiving the information, it was studied and the module was busted. The intentions of the arrested suspects were not correct. The potential of the kind of explosives found is so much that if there was a blast at some important place, many lives could have been lost. In that respect, the police has got a big success”.
