The Blitzboks departed South Africa on Monday as they make the way to Japan for the start of the Tokyo Olympics, scheduled from 23 July to 8 August.
Neil Powell's side will be aiming for Olympic glory in Rugby Sevens this year as they look to improve on their bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Games.
Fourth-seeded South Africa will play in Pool C and will face Ireland, Kenya and USA in the pool phase, which will commence from the 26 July in Tokyo Stadium.
Siviwe Soyizwapi will resume his leadership role in the squad as he takes the captaincy armband, while Ruhan Nel will travel to Tokyo as a back-up player.
South Africa will spend a week in Kagoshima City prior to the event, where they will fine tune their preparations.
The Blitzboks face Ireland in their opening match on 26 July at 04:00 (SA time) and then play Kenya at 12:00 to conclude their match day one programme.
