Ahmedabad water logged after sudden showers along with gusty winds

Several areas witnessed major traffic jams, as people could be seen abandoning their private vehicles to get a cab or auto for reaching back home. As reported by the Times of India, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) said 84.3mm or 3.3 inches of rainfall had been received by the city till 10:00 pm

Sudden showers with lightning and gusty wind on Sunday were a much-welcome relief for the citizens of Ahmedabad after suffering from extreme humidity.

However, moderate to heavy rainfall ended up in most areas getting waterlogged as four underpasses had to be closed down for traffic. 

The rainfall, which commenced around 7.30 pm on Sunday, lashed out on the Amdavadis returning from their Sunday excursions.

As reported by the Times of India, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) said 84.3mm or 3.3 inches of rainfall had been received by the city till 10:00 pm. 

South zone (including Maninagar and Vatva) received 120 mm rainfall, followed by 101 mm rainfall in the East zone (including Odhav, Viratnagar, Nikol, Ramol, etc.), 93 mm rainfall in the Central zone (including Danapith and Dudeshwar), and 90 mm rainfall in North zone (including Memco, Naroda and Kotarpur).

The West zone received 70 mm of rainfall (including Usmanpura, Paldi, and Chandkheda), whereas North West (Bodakdev and Gota) zone received 65.6 mm of rainfall followed by 51 mm rainfall in South West (Sarkhej, Jodhpur, and Bhopal).
