Government-run COVID-19 vaccination centres across the national capital are facing vaccination shortages, especially of Covishield, and several people are worried that they are going to miss their scheduled date for the second shot. The scenario in Delhi started to worsen from July 12, with many centres asking people not to come till further informed. Heavy rains in the city on Tuesday morning led to waterlogging on several road stretches including near the AIIMS flyover in south Delhi. Public Works Department (PWD) officials said that only minor waterlogging complaints have been reported so far and efforts are being taken to remove water from such stretches. (PTI)
To decongest jails in the city, authorities have released around 3,800 prisoners. The release of these prisoners began in the second week of May and 3,000 undertrials and 800 convicts have been released so far.
