Renowned mimicry artist Madhav Moghe passed away on Sunday (July 11). Moghe has worked in films such as ‘Damini’, ‘Ghatak’, ‘Vinashak’, ‘Partner’ among others. He was also a part of several comedy shows on TV and was known for his mimicry of Thakur from the classic cult film ‘Sholay’.
Known as duplicate Sanjeev Kumar for his style of mimicry, Moghe was battling stage three cancer. Madhav Moghe played Kumar’s character, Thakur from ‘Sholay’ in ‘MTV Fully Faltu. He made his Bollywood debut with 1993 film ‘Damini’ which also starred Sunny Deol, Rishi Kapoor, Amrish Puri and Meenakshi Seshadri.
Madhav Moghe was last seen in 2011 film ‘Jaana Pehchana’ which starred Sachin Pilgaonkar, and Ranjeeta Kaur in key roles. May he rest in peace.
