Telangana reports 465 new Covid cases, 4 deaths

HYDERABAD: Telangana recorded 465 new Covid-19 cases and 4 deaths on Sunday, going below the 500 mark for the first time since the second wave peaked. The number of active cases in the state stood at 10,316.
The total count of cases since the beginning of the pandemic last year, stands at 6,31,683 and the death toll stands at 3,729. The number of active containment zones in the state was reduced to 32.
Currently there are no active micro containment zones in Hyderabad while Mahabubabad with 9 and Bhadadri Kothagudem with 7 micro containment zones have majority of the active containment zones in the state.
A total of 869 patients were declared recovered on Sunday, taking the total count of recovered patients to 6,17,638. The case fatality rate (CFR) stands at 0.59 percent while the recovery rate has improved to 97.77 percent now. So far 79.8 percent of overall cases in the state have been asymptomatic while 20.2 percent have been symptomatic.
On Sunday, 65,607 samples were tested, dropping from over 1 lakh being tested each day. Telangana has now completed testing 1.97 crore samples and has reached 5.30 lakh sample testing per million population.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) recorded 70 new cases on Sunday, while neighbouring Medchal Malkajgiri recorded 20 cases, Ranga Reddy recorded 23 and Sanga Reddy recorded 7 cases. Outside of Hyderabad city and its outskirts, Peddapalli, Warangal Urban, Rajannna Sircilla, Bhadadri Kothagudem and Mancheriyal saw more cases.
