Noida: A 13-year-old girl was allegedly abducted by a bidi seller from her house, confined and raped for 21 days.
The girl’s family has alleged that despite reporting her missing on June 16, police did not lodge an FIR for 25 days and forced them to sign a paper that said that the girl was found alone in a room.
The father of the minor said the accused, Abdul Raheem alias Bittu, abducted his daughter on the pretext of marriage on June 14 and confined her in his house in Salarpur.
The complaint by the girl’s father read, “Our daughter was raped multiple times during her confinement. She managed to call us on July 3 and told us about her whereabouts. She also told us that the accused, with his relatives, was trying to sell her off.”
He claimed he informed police the next day, but the cops later “forced the family to say they wanted a compromise" and recorded it.
“They kept us at the police station till late in the night and said they would frame us in a false case if we said anything,” the girl's father said.
While DCP (central Noida) Harish Chander said an FIR will be filed on Saturday, the girl was sent for a medical examination six days after she was rescued on July 4.
DCP (women’s safety) Vrinda Shukla said that the girl’s family had given in writing that they didn’t want any action. “The family’s allegations that they were forced to write a statement is a lie,” she said.
(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
