Barwani (Madhya Pradesh): Under state government’s Ankur Abhiyan, efforts to plant saplings on hillock surrounding Ashagram are gaining ground.
As it is a popular site, the representatives of different religious, social and business organisations have expressed willingness to plant saplings on the hillock besides residents of district and adjoining areas. The saplings will be planted shortly.
SDM Barwani Ghanshyam Dhangar said campaign that started under direction of district collector Shivraj Singh Verma is heading towards completion. At present, 25,000 pits and trenches have been dug for plantation. The work to develop garden on land before idol of Lord Hanuman has also begun.
The work of putting black soil and manure in pits is on and preparations have been made for laying drip lines. For this, the construction of two water tanks of 70,000-litre capacity on the hillock is also nearing completion.
