Pakistan middle-order batter Umar Akmal is yet again in the news but for all the wrong reasons. This time, the batsman was seen lodging a complaint against a few fans who he claims to have had a verbal spat with him, while they were having his autograph.

According to the right-hand batter, he said he received some of his fans at his residence and when they asked for an autograph, Akmal readily agreed. However, things intensified quickly and both groups went into a heated debate, Pakistan newspaper The Nation reported.

The incident took place when they were taking a selfie and things got a bit ugly when the people attacked and threatened to kill him.

Among the four fans, one was a British national, who was staying as a guest in the house, which was beside Akmal in phase five of Lahore’s Defense Housing Authority (DHA).

A First Information Report (FIR) has also been filed and the four are currently under the supervision of police officials. However, the fans have told a totally different story and said that they were beaten and abused by Akmal and his domestic staff. The police are currently investigating the matter, as reported by Cricket Pakistan.

This is not the first time Akmal has been in news for all the wrong reasons. He had started his international career for Pakistan with a bang, but it quickly faded out due to disciplinary issues and attitude.

The younger brother of Kamran Akmal, Umar was touted to be the next big thing in Pakistan cricket but, he was more in news for all the wrong reasons and was embroiled in one controversy or the other.

From misbehaving with the then head coach Mickey Arthur to using an illegal fancy number plate on his car and even breaking the speed limit while driving, the batsman has also had issues with current Pakistan bowling coach Waqar Younis.
