PATNA/BAGAHA: JD(U)
parliamentary board chairman and former Union minister
Upendra Kushwaha on Saturday asked the workers of the party to derive political mileage out of the internal conflicts plaguing the opposition parties in the state.
Launching his ‘yatra’ from
Valmikinagar in West Champaran, Kushwaha said it was a good sign that the opposition parties were facing bickering from within, leaving ample scope for the JD(U) to strengthen its support base.
He claimed that several leaders of the opposition parties, including LJP, were ready to switch sides. “We have avowed to strengthen our organization at grassroots level and place the JD(U) at the top,” Kushwaha said, adding the party believed in the ideology of social justice.
The JD(U) parliamentary board chairman reiterated that the party never promoted any particular caste or community. “We have given due representation to every section of the society,” he said. It was Kushwaha’s first visit to Valmikinagar after joining the JD(U).
Kushwaha ruled out any differences in the JD(U) following the induction of its national president and Rajya Sabha member RCP Singh into the
Union Cabinet.
Kushwaha later inspected vaccination camps at
Bagaha, Chautarwa and Lauria. Earlier, he inaugurated a vaccination camp at a Dalit hamlet and appealed to the members of Dalit community to take vaccines.
A senior JD(U) leader said Kushwaha held a meeting with the workers of the party at Valmikinagar to get feedback about the flood situation and subsequently relief measures for the flood-affected people.
