Gareth Southgate says England are ready to make history in Euro 2020 final as they chase a first major trophy in 55 years, but Italy are in the mood to spoil the party at Wembley. Southgate's side have sent the nation into a frenzy by reaching their first European Championship final, leaving them one win away from a first title since the 1966 World Cup. TEAM NEWS | Italy unchanged for the finale
Italy are unchanged from their semi-final success over Spain, with Emerson once again standing in for the injured Leonardo Spinazzola at full back. Federico Chiesa, whose father Enrico scored at a European Championship on English soil for Italy in 1996, is again preferred in attack after his goal against Spain, with Marco Verratti fit to take his place in midfield.

TEAM NEWS | Tripper in as England revert to back five
England coach Gareth Southgate has reverted to a back five for his side's Euro 2020 final clash against Italy at Wembley, with Kieran Trippier coming in for Bukayo Saka. Southgate elected to go with the five-man defence against Germany in the last 16 with Trippier at right wing back and Luke Shaw on the left in that win, and he has used that same formula for England's first European Championship final. Arsenal teenager Saka drops to the bench, meaning Mason Mount will play in a wide forward position with skipper Harry Kane the lone striker through the middle, while Kyle Walker joins John Stones and Harry Maguire in central defence. Manchester City's Phil Foden is not in the squad having missed training on Saturday through injury.

There is always a home team. That has happened in the past and it won't be the last time. There is no controversy. It is a dream for football lovers everywhere to be involved in the final and it will be even better if we can win it. We need to thrive and savour this occasion. When we met up before the competition I said we needed just that hint of madness and to keep cool heads. That has brought us this far and hopefully it can take us to win the competition.
HOME ADVANTAGE | England have lost only once in the last 17 matches at Wembley
Fifty-five years ago I was fortunate to present the World Cup to Bobby Moore and saw what it meant to the players, management and support staff to reach and win the final of a major international football tournament. I want to send my congratulations and that of my family to you all on reaching the final of the European Championships. I send my good wishes for tomorrow with the hope that history will record not only your success but also the spirit, commitment and pride with which you have conducted yourselves.
* While England have only once previously reached the final of a major tournament, this will be Italy's 10th such final. In England's favour, the 60,000-strong crowd will be overwhelmingly supporting the home nation.

Italy - the team of the tournament
Italy have been arguably the team of the tournament, sweeping through the group stage with a perfect record before knocking out Austria, top-ranked Belgium and Spain to reach the final. Revitalised since Mancini took over after their embarrassing failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, the Azzurri are on a remarkable 33-match unbeaten run. The four-time world champions' lone European Championship triumph came in 1968. They have lost their previous two finals in 2002 and 2012.
Check out what the TOI Online Poll says about the finale
It's been fantastic to have the letter from the Queen, the letter from the Prime Minister to all of the team. The recognition that the players and all of the staff have gone around this in the right way. We had a fantastic reception when we left St George's Park. All the local villages had come out to line the route and people pulled up so you got an idea of what was going on outside the bubble that we've been in. The players need to feel that warmth and support. It has definitely helped inspire us. We're in a final and we are here to win. Now we want to go and bring the trophy home for everybody.
Celebs support for England
On the eve of the final, Southgate's squad received messages of support from Queen Elizabeth II, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and even Hollywood actor Tom Cruise. Johnson has decked the outside of his official Downing Street residence with dozens of St George's flags. After England were given a rousing send off, with fans lining the streets on the journey from their St George's Park base to the team hotel on Saturday, Southgate urged England to harness the outpouring of emotion into a winning formula in the final.
English fans are already at Wembley Way
Along with 60,000 lucky fans at Wembley, millions across England will be glued to the final on television, with some schools and businesses set to open later on Monday to allow a lie-in after the 1900 GMT kick-off. Hours before kick-off, supporters draped in red and white flags congregated along the famous approach to the stadium, Wembley Way, downing pints of beer and chanting an array of England anthems as excitement built.
