After spending the last week in Latvia, Kenneth Lofton Jr. is coming back to Port Arthur with a gold medal around his neck.
Just like he’s done throughout the Under-19 FIBA World Cup, Lofton came up clutch once again for the United States on Sunday in the championship game. He finished with a team-high 16 points and 7 rebounds as USA captured gold with a come-from-behind victory over France, 83-81.
Lofton, a sophomore at Louisiana Tech, scored 15 of those 16 points in the second half to help USA overcome an eight-point deficit in the third quarter.
