Singer Rahul Vaidya, who was a contestant on the first season of singing reality show 'Indian Idol', recently reacted to the controversy surrounding the show.
For those unversed, In May, singer Amit Kumar had said in an interview that he did not enjoy the Kishore Kumar tribute episode of 'Indian Idol 12' that he was asked to be a guest judge on.
He further claimed that he simply followed the team’s instructions to praise all the contestants. He had also shared that he did not like many of the contestants' performances.
Now, in one of his recent interviews with ETimes, Rahul said that while he is not aware of what happens on 'Indian Idol' now, he does not see the big deal even if a guest judge was asked to refrain from criticising the contestants.
He believes that all the contestants on the show are good singers adding that he does not understand why people are making such a big fuss about it.
Rahul also addressed the criticism of the romantic angle on the show and said that it was just for entertainment.
The singer said that the show has been running for the last 6-7 months and is made from an entertainment point of view.
Talking about season 1 of 'Indian Idol', Rahul stated that during his season, the show was very pure and now things have changed because everything goes through evolution.
Meanwhile, Rahul emerged as the runner-up in 'Bigg Boss 14' and will next feature in stunt-based reality show 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 11'.
He is also set to tie the knot with Disha Parmar on July 16.
