A shopper who was tired of looking at her 'ugly' sliding door has made a 'barn door' using a $3 roll of contact sheet from Kmart.
The woman, from Sydney, used vinyl adhesive rolls with a white wood-grain design to create an illusion of a barn door, which can cost upwards of $285.
'$3 per roll from Kmart, converted an ugly sliding door to a barn door… It was fun, cheap and easy,' she wrote in a Facebook group.
'I cut and pieced them together to get the effect of a barn door.'

Her post was met with more than 2,000 'likes' and hundreds of comments, with many declaring: 'Hands down the coolest thing I've see done with vinyl.'
'Shut the front door, this is awesome,' another said.
Some shoppers revealed they will now give the vinyl rolls a go after they were looking at ways to turn their sliding doors into barn doors without breaking the bank.
'Wow wow wow. Best contact hack yet. Always wanted a barn door now I can. Thanks for sharing,' one said.
Other customers have used the same vinyl to cover things around their home like cupboards, bookshelves and drawers.
'Looks great. I did the same for my bathroom shelves,' one wrote.

The vinyl has received 70 perfect five-star ratings online, with many saying the design offers a wood look.
'Was very happy with this as a cheap way to do laundry. I did my whole laundry and it looks great and easy to clean. If your good at covering kids school books you'll be fine at laying this,' one wrote.
Another said: 'Perfect for that little DIY refreshing look to the old furniture. Good opacity, but you may get a better result with an extra plain color layer under it.'
One shopper added: 'Beautiful effect! Not as tough as the more expensive stuff but absolutely brilliant anyway,' while one said: 'Looks like the real thing when contacted on items - very pleased.'
