Aditi Rao Hydari has always been very disciplined when it comes to her fitness routine, using it to boost her physical and mental health, even when she's busy with photoshoots, films and promotions. “I’m totally addicted to yoga,” confessed Rao Hydari in an interview with Vogue India. “I really think it changes your life,” she shared. If you're looking to cultivate the same kind of passion for your workout routine, here are a few lessons from the actor that can serve as a great starter guide. 

1. Make the time to workout, wherever you are

Whether she is travelling or on set, Hydari always makes it a point to exercise. Her routine includes, “30 minutes of circuit training thrice a week and yoga on alternate days.” On the days when she isn’t able to fit in a full session, she fits in a “10-minute workout at least.” The actor also always makes sure that her thera band and yoga mat are always with her. Even if it’s a quick routine, making sure to keep moving improves the metabolic rate and bolsters muscle health.

Get those endorphins going just like Hydari who loves to start her mornings with Surya Namaskar aka ‘the ultimate asana’. Known to improve metabolism and blood circulation, the sweaty glow also helps with keeping your skin happy and healthy.

Hydari loves switching up her routines with various dance forms and martial arts. “Kicking those blues away while trying to not fall flat on my face,” shared Hydari in a recent post where she was seen doing Kalaripayattu, a South Indian martial arts practice that not only increases your body strength but also helps improve your flexibility and posture.

4. Do what makes you happy

Dancing is a practice that balances Hydari, keeps her grounded and is also one of her favourite workouts. “Going back to something I have done since I was five, feels as natural as breathing,” she shared on one of her captions on Instagram, where she was seen dedicating a dance sequence to her guru.

5. Squeeze in a cardio session when you can

Hydari visits the gym at least four times a week and never misses her training. She often follows it up with a quick jog or running on the treadmill. It helps her develop muscle and bone strength and keeps her metabolism up.
