Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said that if a Hindu boy is lying to a Hindu girl, it is also jihad. The cabinet will also bring a law against it soon. He said that Hindutva is 5,000 years old and a way of life. Followers of most religions are descendants of Hindus. Hindutva cannot be removed, as it would mean moving away from one`s roots and motherland.
We don`t want to use the word `love jihad` because we feel that a Hindu can betray another Hindu too. When a Muslim betrays a Hindu, it is `Love Jihad`. According to me, this is also a `Jihad` when a Hindu man marries a Hindu woman by cheating and misleading her. That`s why I don`t believe in words like Jihad. We will introduce a law to stop cheating during the marriage".
Sarma said that his government will not tolerate the fact that a man cheats with a woman, whether she is a Hindu or a Muslim. Appropriate action will be taken against such criminals to ensure the safety of our sisters.
