GUWAHATI, July 9: In a fortunate turn of events, two persons were recently rescued from the clutches of the abductors. As per information, Jayanta Kachari and Kushal Kalita, involved in afforestation work, were abducted from Garbhanga Reserve Forest on June 30. Following their abduction, minister Suklabaidya had instructed the top police brass to launch an operation and rescue the persons. Subsequently, on July 3 they were rescued at Rani along the Assam-Meghalaya inter-state border around 5 pm.
Both the rescued persons met minister for environment and forest, Parimal Suklabaidya at his official residence on Friday and expressed their gratitude to him for his help leading to their rescue. Minister Suklabaidya felicitated both of them and enquired about their health and wellbeing. The minister appreciated the timely action of the police and thanked them for their dedicated service.
