Tamil Nadu news live: State reports 2,913 new Covid cases, 49 deaths

The number of active Covid-19 cases dropped below 1,600 in the Union territory of Puducherry on Saturday, after a span of more than three months. The territory reported 134 fresh Covid-19 cases even as 255 patients recovered, bringing down the active cases to 1,573. The active cases were less than 1,600 earlier on April 4 (1,592).
