
Steelmaker on Friday reported a 62% year-on-year jump in crude steel production for the first quarter of the fiscal year at 4.93 million tonnes.
“JSW Group’s combined crude steel production was at 5.07 million tonnes, registering a growth of 65% y-o-y, including the production jointly controlled entities viz Bhushan Power and Steel Ltd and JSW Ispat Special Products Ltd,” the company said in a statement.
The crude steel production during the previous quarter was around 4.37 million tonnes.
The company’s newly acqui and Steel reported production of 0.69 million tonnes in Q1 of FY 22.
JSW Steel said that the capacity utilisation levels for India operations were at 91% during the first quarter as against 93% in Q4 as the company supplied over 65,000 tonnes of liquid medical oxygen.
JSW Steel USA reported production of 0.14 million tonnes in Q1.
“JSW Steel Ohio restarted electric arc furnace in March 2021, after refurbishing and capacity is being ramped up,” the company said in a statement.
